Privacy Policy

FlockAware is designed to provide navigation and mapped-awareness features without building a profile of where you go.

What the app processes

When you request nearby search results or a route, the app sends the search text and/or the current origin, destination, and route preferences to the FlockAware navigation service. The service uses Amazon Location Service to answer that request. This information is processed only to return the requested result and is not written to FlockAware application storage as a search, route, or location history.

During active navigation, location is processed on your device to provide progress, spoken directions, rerouting, and proximity alerts. Background location starts only after you start navigation and ends when navigation stops.

What stays on your device

Saved destinations, route preferences, map appearance, cached awareness records, active alert state, and temporary navigation state are stored or processed locally. FlockAware does not provide an account or synchronize these items between devices.

What FlockAware does not do

  • No advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.
  • No sale of location, search, route, or device data.
  • No behavioral analytics or advertising identifiers.
  • No server-side user account, destination list, or trip log.

Service providers and network data

FlockAware uses Amazon Web Services for place search, route calculation, API delivery, logs, and static awareness files. Map tiles are requested from OpenFreeMap and contain OpenStreetMap data. Like other internet services, these providers may receive ordinary network information such as an IP address while servicing a request. FlockAware does not use that information to build a user profile or for advertising.

Logs and retention

The navigation service keeps short-lived operational logs for up to seven days. Application logging excludes raw search text, request bodies, coordinates, destinations, and route geometry. Monthly service counters contain only the request category and count, not the request content.

Your choices and deletion

You can revoke location access in your device settings. You can remove saved destinations inside FlockAware or remove all local app data by deleting the app. Because FlockAware has no user account and does not retain a server-side route or location history, there is no account history for FlockAware to delete.

Coverage and safety

Awareness records are community-mapped and may be incomplete, outdated, or imprecise. FlockAware is informational and does not replace posted signs, traffic laws, or attentive driving.

Changes and contact
